Job Description

Phipps Cameron are currently partnering with a Global Wealth/Asset Management Business who are looking for a Corporate Development Senior Associate. This role will require experience and knowledge of the full M&A deal cycle from origination to post acquisition. We are ideally looking for an individual with previous experience in M&A/Corporate Development within financial services, either from a professional services firm or in house.

Overview Of Key Duties:

M&A Sourcing and Analysis

  • Conduct Financial Analysis by researching potential targets in given areas, providing background data and initial valuations to management
  • Produce comparisons of live acquisition opportunities to other businesses in the target sector / product to understand alternatives
  • Conduct "first reads" of teasers to establish whether to pursue a target and carry out initial business and valuation analysis to establish interest levels
  • Maintain and update trading and transaction multiple databases

Execution of M&A Activity

  • Lead or assist in the acquisition or disposal process including due diligence, co-ordinating and motivation of teams through to closure of deal
  • Drafting and finalising board papers, letters of interest and other transaction documentation
  • Post acquisition / disposal, work alongside change management to ensure planning occurs at correct points in cycle and assist where appropriate on post transaction integration and/or separation
  • Gather competitor and market intelligence on an ongoing basis, creating updates and insightful analysis for senior management when appropriate
  • Carry out high quality financial modelling in detail and distilling key messages for management
  • Work on internal projects on an ad hoc basis as required, including but not limited to strategic studies, possible disposal of businesses, drafting papers for the Head of Corporate Development
