Job Description

Phipps Cameron are partnering with the leading financial markets infrastructure and data provider company, who are seeking a Senior Associate to join their M&A team in New York. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience working on the full lifecycle of M&A projects.
 
Role Profile:
Assist senior members of the M&A team with numerous M&A projects. Screening projects, transaction management and post-merger integration (PMI) planning.
Key responsibilities within the M&A transaction project lifecycle include, market analysis, screening, development of detailed valuation models / analysis and support to business plans for PMI. Coordinating due diligence process and advisors.
 
The role is expected to provide opportunities for career development, leading to further responsibilities, including overseeing the entirety of the due diligence process, acting as the focal point for the team’s finance DD, and leading Purchase Price allocation analysis. The role provides excellent exposure and insight to the legal aspects of M&A transactions and PMI planning. Exposure to internal and external stakeholders, presenting the management of analyst resources.
 Development of skills necessary to lead an M&A transaction from start to finish within 3-5 years.
 
Skills & Experience:
 Strong analytical skills in advanced financial modelling, valuation, and general data analysis/presentation.
The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of M&A experience with a strong track record, preferably with a good understanding of high tech, IT & Software industry, with relevant experience in the following areas:
 
  • Financial analysis.
  • Enterprise valuation incl. LBO and structuring business cases.
  • Familiar with financial, legal, or commercial due diligence process.
  • Oversight & development of analyst resource.
  • Presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ambition to become a skilled M&A professional with the necessary skills to lead mid-sized international M&A projects.
  • Clear vision to obtain senior management position, showing commitment to continuous personal development.
  • Strong business acumen with clear commercial drive and customer focus.
  • Ability to develop and maintain long term relationships, internally and externally.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize key tasks.
  • High integrity and excellent team player.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Likely background: experience as an M&A analyst from a tech M&A boutique advisor, or strategy consulting experience from a firm with a good reputation, or from the strategic/transactions services teams of well reputed audit firms, or from an active corporate business development team.
