We are working with a FTSE 30 multi £B turnover business who are looking to hire a Senior Insurance and Risk Manager on a permanent basis. This role will report directly into a board member with the view of progression and a global remit.

The role:

• Lead the team in the delivery of the Global Insurance programmes. This includes all aspects of programme delivery, from management of the relevant broker and engagement with lead insurers, to reviewing and debating policy language and management of claims.
• Lead and manage the external service providers in their delivery of their services in accordance with contractual arrangements.
• Provide a technical insurance escalation for queries arising from internal or external parties.
• Lead the day-to-day ERM team, ensuring delivery of end-to-end ERM process and reporting to various Risk Committees. 
• Support ERM, as liaison for specific functions and regions. Includes providing ad-hoc advice on risk management issues, facilitation of regional risk committee meetings and participation at functional risk meetings.
• Coaching and training of other risk and insurance team members as required

The Person:

• Relevant Insurance qualification is pre-requisite.
• Relevant experience of multi-national insurance programmes, including operational aspects.
• Technical ability with regards to policy wording review and interpretation.
• Experience of managing and maintaining relationships with insurance brokers and insurers is required.
• Experience with Captives would be beneficial.
• Good understanding of ERM practices and terminology would be beneficial.
• Good understanding of the business and operating models is desirable but experience in large multinational organisations is required.

We are currently working with a FTSE 50 Business looking to add a Group Head of M&A. This role will be responsible for providing strategic analysis, advice and operational support to the CFO and Management Board and to manage all major acquisition, investment and divestment activity. This opportunity will also play a key part in formulating the strategy for the group. 

Key Accountabilities Include:

• Strategic Input: Using inorganic activity to drive the Group Strategy forward in an efficient manner
• Execution: Manage a portfolio of projects from inception to conclusion - deploying the resources in the M&A function to achieve the best result
• Obtaining Buy-In: Recommend M&A Activity to the Management Board
• Rigorous selection: Identify Merger, Acquisition, Disposal Targets, Potential deals for the Group which make strategic and financial sense, managing the relationships of these targets
• Growing People: Continue the legacy of M&A in recruiting and developing the highest quality and diverse team possible

Requirements:

• Credible: Must have the personal credibility to work directly with the CFO and Management Board and to influence both general strategic decisions and M&A decisions
• Leadership: Proven experience building strong teams required. The candidate will be expected to have built diverse teams, addressed performance issues in a sympathetic manner and will have a roster of successful alumni who have progressed
• Savvy: Exhibit a strong understanding of business both from a strategic and operational sense to be able to span long-term strategy and short-term deal-making
• Global: Have a broad mindset, understanding cultural difference, ideally underpinned by global experience.The successful candidate will have worked with, or in, different cultures and will be able to display an empathy for the challenges faced
• Credentials: Financial background and deal-making experience is essential, through a track record of similar activities underpinned by strong examples. Qualified accountants are preferred.
