Head of Controlling / Senior Controller (m/f/d) – Manufacturing & Private Equity
Our client is a leading, internationally operating manufacturer of customized industrial and consumer goods on a strong growth and expansion trajectory. As a long-standing technology leader, this medium-sized corporate group supplies well-known brands and is backed by a renowned, independent Private Equity investment firm.
To secure their ambitious growth targets and drive value creation, we are seeking a qualified and hands-on Head of Controlling / Senior Controller (m/f/d) for a permanent, full-time position located in the Nuremberg metropolitan area (Germany).
Key Responsibilities
- Steering & Analysis: Monitor business development using financial metrics, and design management cockpits and KPIs.
- Closing & Forecasting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (in cooperation with financial accounting) and validate the monthly forecast.
- Management Reporting: Generate meaningful controlling reports (focusing on earnings, costs, and liquidity management) based on BI, AI, and ERP systems, with a strong emphasis on production and sales controlling.
- Performance Improvement: Enhance multi-level contribution margin accounting, propose business optimizations, and track value creation initiatives.
- Consolidation: Drive the monthly reporting cycle and consolidate the group's international subsidiaries (including UK and Italy).
- Stakeholder Management: Support the Group CFO with integrated forecasts, budgeting, and liquidity planning for the group (including covenant calculation, pro-forma reporting, and adjustment reports).
- Dashboard Implementation: Conceptualize and implement a KPI dashboard for metric-driven corporate management.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Group CFO, Head of Accounting, external advisors, banks, and investors.
Candidate Profile
- Education: University degree in Business Administration (majoring in Controlling/Finance) or a comparable commercial background with additional certification as a Controller.
- Professional Experience: At least 8 years of relevant controlling experience within a medium-sized, manufacturing industrial company.
- Leadership: Initial experience in leading a team (directly and indirectly managing up to 3 employees).
- Systems & Tools: Very strong proficiency in Excel; experience with BI/analytics software (ideally PowerBI) and ERP systems (e.g., D365), along with excellent knowledge of LucaNet.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep process understanding of structures in manufacturing (ideally within the printing or packaging industry).
- PE Affinity: Prior experience working within a Private Equity environment is a distinct advantage.
- Traits: Strong hands-on mentality, analytical mindset, high commitment, and excellent communication skills.
- Languages: Business fluent in both German and English (written and spoken).
