Finance Director – AI Division

Reporting to: Division CFO
Exposure: Very high / daily interaction with Global C-suite, investors and senior business leaders

Business Overview

London Headquartered, PE-backed industrial software and AI business with £1.5bn revenue, £1bn ARR and 6,000+ employees globally with operations in more than 90 countries. The business is experiencing strong growth, with ARR and cloud revenue both growing at c.25% YoY.

The AI Division is a strategically important growth area, comprising 6–7 product groups, each with its own P&L and senior product leader.

Role Context

This is a senior Strategic Finance role within a high-performing, low-ego and highly collaborative environment. The successful candidate will take significant day-to-day ownership of the Division's finance agenda, working closely with the CFO, Strategic Finance leadership and wider C-suite.

The role offers substantial autonomy and is intended to provide a natural successor / second-in-command within the Strategic Finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Division / P&L ownership: Partner with product leaders across 6–7 businesses on performance, investment decisions, growth opportunities and P&L management.
• Strategic finance: Own forecasting, month-end financial review and performance analysis, remaining close enough to the detail to ensure numbers and outputs are robust.
• Board & C-suite reporting: Lead the financial narrative for the AI Division, producing high-quality Board and senior leadership materials and clearly articulating performance, outlook and strategic priorities.
• Capital markets: Support equity, financing and other corporate events, including investor materials, Q&A preparation, data rooms and analytical work.
• Investor / lender engagement: Contribute to reporting and communications with PE sponsors, institutional investors, lenders and rating agencies.
• Capital allocation & ROI: Drive disciplined investment decisions across the AI portfolio, tracking returns and holding business leaders accountable for outcomes.
• Team leadership: Lead a lean Strategic Finance team, currently comprising two offshore analysts, while developing the function and ensuring high-quality outputs.
• AI-enabled finance: Identify opportunities to automate and improve finance processes using AI and emerging technology.
