Job Description

Corporate Development (M&A) Lead

Location: Multiple sites across the East Coast, USA

Sector: Business Services

Salary: Up to circa $220,000 base

We are partnering with a leading global business services company to appoint a Corporate Development (M&A) Lead at an exciting point in its growth journey. With a significant acquisition budget, a highly active deal pipeline and a clear ambition to expand into larger and more complex transactions, this is a unique opportunity to join a lean, high-performing team where M&A sits firmly at the centre of the growth strategy.

The business completes dozens of acquisitions each year across North America and is continuing to invest heavily in both existing and new service markets. Having successfully built out the wider team, the organisation is now looking for an experienced deal professional who can step into a leadership role and take ownership of transactions from day one.

The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating, executing and managing acquisitions across a broad range of business services sectors. This is a highly visible position offering significant exposure to senior executives, strategic decision-making and a growing portfolio of larger-scale opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading M&A transactions from initial evaluation through to signing and closing, managing all phases of the deal process
  • Conducting detailed financial, strategic and commercial analysis to assess acquisition opportunities
  • Coordinating due diligence workstreams and managing external advisers, including investment banks, consultants and legal counsel
  • Preparing investment materials, valuation analyses and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Building and maintaining relationships with target companies, owners and industry participants
  • Supporting negotiation of transaction structures, commercial terms and key deal documentation
  • Working closely with business leaders to evaluate strategic growth opportunities across multiple sectors
  • Contributing to acquisition pipeline development and market mapping initiatives
  • Assessing potential synergies, risks and value creation opportunities associated with transactions
  • Supporting integration planning and post-acquisition strategic initiatives where required
  • Managing multiple live transactions simultaneously within a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Playing a key role as the organisation continues to evaluate larger and more complex acquisition opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong M&A transaction experience gained within corporate development, private equity or investment banking
  • Demonstrable deal execution experience with the ability to independently manage transactions
  • Experience within Business Services, Facilities Management, Support Services or related sectors is highly desirable
  • Strong commercial judgement combined with excellent financial and valuation skills
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a lean team environment with high levels of responsibility
  • Relationship-driven approach with the ability to build credibility with management teams, advisers and senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience preparing materials for executive audiences
  • Highly organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Willingness to be based on the East Coast, with flexibility to travel across North America as required

Due to the high volume of applications we are currently managing, we may not be able to respond individually to every applicant. If you have not been contacted within 10 working days of submitting your application, please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
