Interim Manager – Financial Reporting & Transformation (6 months)

London

£500-600 day rate (inside)

6 months

We are seeking an experienced Interim Manager – Financial Reporting & Transformation to play a pivotal role in strengthening the financial control environment and elevating reporting standards during a period of significant organisational change under private equity ownership.

This assignment is not solely year-end focused — it is about building best-in-class reporting and audit processes, resolving legacy issues, and helping shape the finance function to meet the expectations of investors and regulators. The role will combine hands-on delivery with leadership of process and control improvements, working closely with the Head of Finance and Head of Finance Transformation.

The company has grown both organically and through acquisitions, developing an international presence in the capital markets space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior finance leadership to redesign and implement enhanced financial controls, reporting cadence, and governance frameworks.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of statutory accounts for the Group and subsidiaries (including FCA-regulated entities) under IFRS.
  • Act as the primary contact for auditors and tax advisors, ensuring high-quality audit deliverables and statutory submissions.
  • Review and resolve historic accounting and reconciliation issues, embedding sustainable solutions that strengthen reporting accuracy.
  • Drive improvements in balance sheet integrity, reporting discipline, and internal controls to align with PE-backed expectations.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, embedding best practices to future-proof reporting and audit processes.
  • Provide ad hoc technical guidance and leadership within the finance team, acting as a hands-on change agent.

Requirements

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with strong expertise in IFRS, including complex areas such as financial instruments, hedging, and multi-currency consolidations.
  • Solid background in audit and financial reporting, ideally within financial services or capital markets, with experience in regulated entities.
  • Track record of leading the preparation of statutory accounts and disclosures, with confidence in managing external audit and tax advisory relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to strengthen processes, improve controls, and embed governance in fast-paced, investor-backed or transformation-heavy environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and embed change.
  • Pragmatic and hands-on, with the ability to deliver under pressure while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
