With a strong foundation already in place, the business is entering its next phase of AI maturity, scaling capabilities, deepening infrastructure, and embedding advanced intelligence across its global product suite.
They are now looking to hire a Senior Director – AI Platform Engineering to play a pivotal leadership role in defining and executing the next chapter of this journey. The successful candidate will own the strategy, build and lead a globally distributed team, and drive the expansion of AI capabilities that directly impact enterprise-scale outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defining and executing the technical strategy and roadmap for the evolution of the AI platform.
- Building, scaling, and leading a high-performing engineering organization across multiple geographies.
- Driving strategic partnerships with leading AI infrastructure and model providers.
- Partnering closely with product leadership to prioritise high-impact AI use cases.
- Expanding capabilities across model training, evaluation, and serving infrastructure.
- Owning the data strategy for AI, ensuring robust pipelines, quality frameworks, and privacy-first practices.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with platform, data, and cloud engineering teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Managing budgets, hiring plans, and delivery milestones for a growing AI engineering function.
- Presenting strategy, progress, and outcomes to senior and C-level stakeholders.
- Establishing and enforcing best practices around data safety, tenant isolation, and responsible AI.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A seasoned engineering leader with a strong track record of building and scaling high-performing AI/ML teams across multiple regions.
- Deep technical expertise in modern AI systems, including model training, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, and production-scale model serving.
- Proven experience delivering AI-driven products within enterprise B2B SaaS environments.
- Demonstrated success in scaling teams and bringing complex, production-grade AI capabilities from concept through to deployment.
- Strong experience managing and evaluating strategic partnerships with leading AI and cloud providers.
- Expertise in enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
- A credible and influential leader, comfortable engaging with and advising C-level stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of data privacy, governance frameworks, and responsible AI practices.
- An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
