Job Description
The Head of M&A is responsible for all M&A activities for the business and must have an excellent record of delivering increased revenue, margin and profits, and quick payback on acquisitions. You will also be tasked with working alongside the Executives within the business to formulate the inorganic growth strategy as well as performing significant outreach to owner managed businesses across EMEA.
Professional Knowledge/Experience
- It is essential that candidates have existing knowledge/network within the financial services industry - wealth/asset management preferred.
- Strong track record of origination and execution in relation to M&A transactions, either from an in-house corporate development, investment banking or advisory perspective
- Previous experience working with C-suite internal stakeholders and able manage external advisor relationships
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of the M&A deal lifecycle – enhancing significant inorganic growth.
- Be able to immerse self in the sector, using strong strategic knowledge and commercial acumen to help build and maintain a pipeline of acquisition opportunities.
- Pipeline management, continually demonstrating future value creation of M&A in line with ambitions of shareholder value creation plan.
- Work with divisional stakeholders to align M&A focus and targets with divisional business plans.
- Manage external advisors
- Prioritise target acquisitions in a strategic manner, understanding long-term value add and aligning with the wider business aims.
- Communicate with teams internally in an effective manner to ensure deals progress as planned.
- Demonstrate extremely strong modelling and analysis capabilities at all times.
- Deliver increased revenue, margin and profits on acquisitions.
- Manage the existing Corporate Development team – potential for hiring further team members in the future
- Work closely with integration team to ensure smooth handover of acquisitions.
- At all times build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, being a respectful member of the team.
