Job Description

The Role:

As the Group Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the financial operations, including reporting, planning and analysis, ERP, investor relations and working capital management.

Sitting on the main International board, with directorships in the UK and abroad, you will be working closely with the Chief Executive and Chief Operations Officer, ensuring the company performs as efficiently and profitably as possible whilst enabling sustainable growth. You will need a commercial but pragmatic outlook to ensure that the financial strategies align with the business objectives and ever-changing market dynamics.

Areas of focus:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the group's financial operations, financial control and risk management. Lead global team of 30 employees with 8 direct reports located in the London head office and group companies overseas.
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the group’s financial reporting and general ledger structure. Manage the finance team to produce accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reports both internal and external.
  • Manage key relationships with banks and funding partners. Coordinate the groups working capital requirements and ensure working capital needs are met throughout the year. Control and manage cash flow.
  • Oversee calculating and reporting royalties to over 100 external licensors. Manage periodic audits by licensors and ensure compliance with all financial aspects of their contracts. Review and approve financial clauses in new contracts in partnership with the group’s licensing team.
  • Oversee financial planning and analysis, providing prompt and reliable financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis to support decision-making across the organization.
  • Manage the tax affairs of the group and direct the strategy to effectively ensure full compliance across all operating territories.
  • Ensure accurate integration between finance systems and external logistics and sales partners (EDI).
  • Aid in investor relations, maintaining strong relationships with investors and providing regular updates on company performance, growth prospects, and strategic initiatives.
  • As part of senior project team ensure smooth transition from current local finance systems, Sage, to global ERP system: SAP Business By Design (estimate January 25 go-live). Support core team in workflow and process improvement, and data transfer.

What are we looking for?

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent with 12+ years experience
  • FMCG experience in a multi-currency and multi territory environment. Preferably working with third partner manufacturing and logistics partners.
  • Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably as a FD/CFO.
  • Experience of managing cash flow and bank relations.
  • Proven experience of change management and process improvement and efficiency.
  • Team management including resource allocation and restructuring. Experience of managing remote teams.
  • Experience with SAP Business By Design. Design, Implementation, Optimisation, Management and improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and communicate complex financial ideas.
  • Pragmatic and commercial outlook.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic insights to inform decision-making.

  • Expertise in managing multicurrency operations and treasury functions, with an understanding of foreign exchange markets, hedging strategies, and risk management practices.
